Jan and I met in Mr. Rasmussen's 7th grade class at Monroe. We remained close until our junior year when a silly adolescent argument separated us for a few years. Jan had her degree in journalism, and worked for various Nebraska and Iowa newspapers, finally ending up in Northern California. She was very active in her church, and enjoyed singing with them. Jan and her husband Lee were avid golfers and travelers, as well as gracious hosts as I was able to visit with them when business trips took me to the San Francisco area. It was very odd during my latest trip there to think I wouldn't be seeing her again.
