There will be a celebration of life for Don at the Italian American Society, 5110 No. 132nd. St. in Omaha this Sunday, July 12 from 2:00 to 6:00. Assume it is an open house situation.
I want to express my deepest condolences to all of Don's Family and Friends. Don was a wonderful person and friend to everyone he meet and knew. Don will be truly missed.
From Monroe until graduation from Benson the alphbetical routine had me sitting just ahead or beside Don in classes or assemeblies, Don would be there with his ready, infectious smile. If I close my eyes and turn around I expect to see that smile. R.I.P. Don.
I was shocked to hear the news of Don's passing (thanks for contacting me, Bill West)----he was a great guy, with a marvelous wit, tons of ability and a true, loyal friend. Our high school days were all the richer for having him among us. I was fortunate to be able to get a few minutes with him at the last reunion, and he left me a gracious and funny voice mail afterwards, making the years fall away. I'll miss him. Sincere condolences to his family and many friends. Bill Bachman
So sorry to learn of Don's passing. Bill and I enjoyed visiting with both Don and his wife Marilyn at the reunion. Lots of memories of good times at Benson.
What a shock to hear of Don's passing. I spoke to Don within the last month about getting together this summer. I feel bad that it did not happen. I feel very lucky to have known Don and was able to spend time with him & Marilyn over the years. His rec room in Blue Springs,MO (Kansas City Area) is a shrine to Benson High School. He was very proud to be a Benson High Grad!!! We are all very fortunate to have had Don as a classmate/teammate and dear friend ! God Bless you Don !
Sorry to hear about the loss of Don! He provided his usual upbeat personality during the 50 year reunion. I'm thankful I had time to talk with him after our Friday golf outing and the evening entertainment at the Mattress Factory. The football film really did remind us of the way we were.
My condolences to Don's family and many friends! So sorry to hear that another important cog in the 1962 Benson Bunny football team's fly-wheel is now missing.
