Many thanks to the Reunion Committee for your many hours of dedicated effort to make this last weekend together a memorable event. Renewing relationships, clear back to elementary school in some cases, was so very rewarding. Hopefully, these earlier friendships will be carried forward into the coming years. Some of us had a blast just not acting so grownup for the last two nights and enjoyed being those kids again. Sincere appreciation to all who created the event and to all who traveled far to be there.

It wasn't great or anything! Wasn't fun or anything!! (Bunny talk). Just want to thank everyone and anyone who helped putting on the best reunion ever. What a blast. I would also like to thank all those from near and far for coming and making our reunion so successful. It was so great reconnecting with so many friends that I haven't seen for so many years. Let's all try to stay in touch with those who we promised we would. Thanks again everyone for putting it on and being there.

I was thinking about all you Bunnies all week-end and am so sorry I was unable to make the reunion.  I know the committe worked their bunny tails off and am sure the whole event was fantastic.  Sorry to have missed you all on such a special occassion.  Hope to see some photos!

I would like to second Bob Nebe's comments. Many thanks to the Committee for all their hard work in putting this together. What a great weekend! I think what I enjoyed the most is that just about all of us have adopted the credo of the great sage and philosopher Popeye - "I yam what I yam." No airs, no pretense; what you see is what you get. Maybe we've all grown up.

I greatly appreciated Bill Bachman's tribute to the veterans - and their families - from our class. I think it would be appropriate, however, to note specifically the service of one classmate. If you read Harlan Schuett's bio, you know that he served thirty years on active duty in the Marine Corps, retiring as a sergeant-major, the highest rank an enlisted man can obtain. Very few get there - only the best of the best. Thank you, Harlan.

Okay.  I'm  going to have to give up something in my life so I have more time to spend with the Bunny website.  I thought I could do all my reconnecting at the reunion but for every question I asked old classmates, many more came up.

Of course, thank you for everyone's effort.  I'm still in a bit of a time warp.  I hope the website can stay up for a long while.

I wanted to share a little story here.  In one of my first grade classrooms I acquired a little bunny from my future daughter-in-law.  She was in college, no longer able to take care of him.  So, "Fluffy" moved from CU Boulder  to our classroom in  Lakewood.  The name didn't seem right.  I changed it to Benson.  Benson was a busy bunny.  He had free rein of the classroom at certain times of the day and he often got out the hall door and could  be seen hopping down the hallway toward a friend's classroom where lived "Bonita" Bunny.  The courtship was quick. Tiny Bunnies soon appeared on an exciting day in first grade.  We called it a teachable moment but Benson couldn't have been prouder!

I'd like to add my thanks to the well-deserved accolades being sent to the Reunion Committee and to all the others who made the event such a success.  It was great to see everyone who attended, and it allowed me---after a long and winding 50 yrs!---to reconnect to several classmates who were such an important part of my life.  I'm very grateful for that opportunity.  Thank you all.

Bill

It was the best of times.   We shared  the formulative years of our lives together at BHS so the 50th reunion had to be a fitting celebration  to highlight those years.  It definately  was.  The event organizers were up to the task in spades.  Unfortunately, they have to take their only compensation in knowing it was a job well done.  But fortunately, they also had some perks that went with the job like having their names printed on the back of the menu which is pretty cool, and also in being able to take home all those little malted milk balls, and also getting to clean up after the party, and also knowing that they have the courage to let a high school kid drive their car while they are in the club house drinking with their high school buddies.  Anyway, thank you all.

I would like to add my thanks to all of you for the effort you put into the reunion.  Congratulations, from what I've read I missed a very good time.  Well done. This was the first reunion I was aware of and it amazed me as to the number of classmates the committee tracked down.  I can not imagine the work that went into that, as I look at the locations to which we all dispersed.

Although I did not attend, I had marked the dates on my calendar over a year ago and was looking forward to reconnected with many of you.  One of my failings was to not maintain contact with anyone after I moved away from Omaha.  Unfortunately, I cancelled my trip at the last minute.

As I teach, I continued to be amazed at how well Benson prepared us for post graduation.  I have students from many states and several other countries and they lack the skills we learned.

I was with you in spirit, if not in person, and I remember the good times I had at Benson.  To all of you my best wishes for a long and happy life.  Thanks for the memories.  I too hope this site stays up for awhile, so that I may reconnect through the electrons.

To Bill Bachman, thanks for remembering the veterans.  Welcome home, brother.

Ted

Shareen Trouba (Howlett)

I totally agree with Bill West and the others, this was the best of times. I put my life and family on hold for this weekend. I did not want to miss out on even one minute of the memorable moments we all shared at the reunion. Even though it was chilly outside, our warm bunny hearts kept us hopping at all the events. So many laughs and tears shared at the dinner, knowing we had a good run and now we go on our separate ways again. But the glow in our hearts will forever burn for BHS. Knowing that the Bunnie tradition will continue into the next millenium will sustain our friendships and spirit.

Thanks  to our fantastic planning committee who pulled out all the stops for the best represented class of all!

I want to add my appreciation for the Reunion Committee for all the work done to make this a wonderful event.  It was very meaningful to reconnection with friends from my high school years.  Let's try to do this again for the 65th!

Thanks to you all---to those who planned, to those who coordinated each detail, to those who worked hard to execute each detail, to those who volunteered at the events themselves to get us all tagged, photoed, fed, and entertained.  It was a weekend filled with generosity of pocket and spirit.  It was a weekend of touching base with those who made a difference in our lives but whom we left behind as we  went on to fulfill our separate dreams.  Thanks to all of you who came and enjoyed the gatherings, too.  Some traveled far, yet for some even to travel a short distance was a real committment.  My cheeks ache from smiling and laughing, but my heart is filled with renewed respect for your talents and for your friendship.   I wish I could have talked a bit more with many of you.    Many thanks for the memories.  May you all be well and happy--and try in retirement to be the kid you always dreamed of being.

WOW!  What a great 50th Reunion!  Thank you to the committee, you did an awesome job, I wish I could have helped you more.  Next one call me right away, not much of a leader, but a great helper.  I had such a wonderful time reconnecting with many friends, especially Shareen, Diane, Carol and Don from grade school days.  Had a ball all week-end long.  I also enjoyed the dance very much, thanks too all who joined us on the dance floor, what fun!  I'm willing to help in any way to do another one in five years!  Everyone take good care of yourselves, so we can do this again.  God Bless!

Thanks to all who worked on organizing this reunion.  It was really fun!.  The Happy Hollow Club was such a comfortable place to talk with people.  I can't think of a way the reunion could have been improved.

Many thanks to the reunion committee for a great Friday and Saturday night. I was fortunate enough to have a front fow seat to the Harrier news presentation. Great collection of bunnie and world news memories. Great reminder of the significance of the times. Being able to connect with friends I haven't seen in many years was awesome!!

I had a great time, better than even all the other reunions.  It probably was because at the wisdom of our age most of us dropped our pretenses and became the real persons we are.  Judy Anderson Shinkle and all the rest of the reunion committee and workers who volunteered...I say a BIG BUNNY KUDOOS to you all!  Doug Slaughter says maybe we should have a 55th, well why not.  By then there will be more walkers, wheelchairs, and canes for most of us but so what!  The rest who do not require "help" can dance away the evening while the rest of us watch.  Until then let us live life to the fullest, and the "bestest".  God bless you all!!!!!!!

Kudos to the planning committee for a fabulous reunion!  It was so much fun to reconnect with friends from our BHS days!  The venues were just great!  And...my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed the tour - Benson continues to be a wonderful place to go to high school!  Many thanks to all for a great weekend!

Jerry and I had a wonderful time all week-end, even though we had some interruptions Friday night from our Oklahoma tornados.  It caused me to try and play catch up on Saturday night and I really didn't cover as much ground as I had hoped.   It was great seeing everybody though,  especially the old Mt.View gang ...really missed Lois Bucknam and Diane Johnson.  I know for certain that the 3 of us started kindergarten together...such fun AND such memories.    Thanks to you all, and the planning committee was GREAT.  Your hard work showed in spades!  According to Jerry,  we even out did Bishop Ryan!!

I also would like to offer my thanks to the reunion planning committee for their tireless efforts in putting together our 50th reunion.  From the web site to the venues to the entertaiment, this reunion was simply the best, top notch!  I enjoyed meeting old friends and the tour of BHS was very interesting.  I can't wait to get my reunion class picture.

This was a really last minute decision on my part to attend, and I am so glad I did!  Having left Omaha nearly 50 years ago and seldom having been back (never for a reunion),  I didn't know quite what to expect -- but it was wonderful to reconnect with so many of you through our conversations and your bios.  I only wished for more time to hear of your life stories and adventures.  Thanks so much to our organizers who made this all possible--you all were superb!
